The Magic of Indian Summer Leather Design

Spring is in full bloom and I have been on the road for a couple of weeks for our Spring Shows. It’s been incredible connecting with so many amazing customers! Thanks to everybody who came by our booth and said hi! As always, we are very grateful to our loyal customers. Many return year after year to purchase a new bag or purse. Seeing so many happy customers wearing one of our pieces always puts a big smile on our faces.

Because I see how happy customers are when they leave with their new purchase I thought it would be nice to write about the magic that goes into making these designer bags.

I have always loved working with leather. As a little girl I would collect scraps of leather and make small change purses. My European background in fashion design and my thorough education, knowledge and experience in design, pattern making, cutting and sowing formed the foundation for me to start Indian summer Leather Design in 1995.

My inspiration comes from the things I see, experiences in nature, from my travels and from art. I live on beautiful Gabriola Island and am inspired daily by walking the trails. I love beach combing looking for unique stones that I use for leather bags to give them that unique West Coast touch.

My bags are all handmade with love and attention to detail. I believe that everyday necessities don’t have to be boring. My bags come in a brilliant array of colours and innovative designs. They're made with your active lifestyle and impeccable taste in mind. I love creating purses that are unique in design, well made and functional.

I am looking forward to bringing my magic to the Signatures Butterdome show in Edmonton this weekend before we head home to our beautiful West Coast.
